CARES/CRRSA/ARP Act (HEERF) Funding

Acknowledgment

On April 27, 2020, Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) obligated funds under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.  WVC intends to use the funds to provide emergency financial aid grants to students.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was the first act of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) series of acts. Rounds 2 and 3 of HEERF were the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act.

Total Funds Received

Wenatchee Valley College received funds totaling $6,370,036.00 in the following allocations:

  • HEERF Round 1, Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
    • Allocated $1,233,434.00 and All funds were disbursed to students by May 2021.

  • HEERF Round 2, Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act
    • Allocated $1,233,434.00 and have expended $1,214,147.73 as of December 31, 2021.

  • HEERF Round 3, American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act
    • Allocated $3,903,168.00 and have expended $725,805.70 as of December 31, 2021.

Wenatchee Valley College has awarded the following amounts:

  • HEERF Round 1, Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
    • Wenatchee Valley College has awarded $1,233,434.00 in grants to 800 students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of December 31, 2021.
  • HEERF Round 2, Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act
    • Wenatchee Valley College has awarded $1,226,168.00 in grants to 514 students under the CARRSA Act as of December 31, 2021.
  • HEERF Round 3, American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act
    • Wenatchee Valley College has awarded $837,157.57 in grants to 256 students under the ARP Act as of December 31, 2021.

Eligibility Estimate

WVC estimates that 3,400 students are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) as of December 31, 2021.

WVC has helped a total of 1,280 students by providing Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students as of December 31, 2021.
